Town Clerk

The clerk is available during business hours for the following- Vehicles registrations, Hunting and fishing licences, Atv and Snowmachine Registrations. Tax payments, Vital Statistic Records, and Dog licences. Re-registrations can be done on- line at Maine.gov.

Registrar of Voters- The Registrar is available during normal business hours for new voters and for previously registered residents to make any changes to their registration card.

GENERAL ASSISTANCE:

The Town of Andover administers a General Assistance Program. Persons who wish to apply for General Assistance may do so at the Andover Town Office during the following times:

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8:00am-1:00pm

Wednesday 12:00pm-5:00pm

People are encouraged to call the General Assistance Officer, Justin Thacker 207-357-4748 and make an appointment with the General Assistance Director. If the Director is not available at the time of the call, a message should be left on the answering machine with a name and telephone number. The Director will return the call as soon as possible.

For after hour’s assistance, please call the Oxford County Sheriff Department; general dispatch; at 1-800-733-1421 option 2.  

General Assistance is intended to provide immediate aid within 24 hours of an application for people who are unable to provide for themselves or their families with basic necessities (food, shelter, utilities, clothing, fuel, and other items). The Town Officers of the Town of Andover have adopted an Ordinance establishing the General Assistance Program pursuant to Title 22 MRSA Section 4305. A copy of this Ordinance is available for public inspection at the Town Office.
